I thought I should spend a little time utilising the skills I had to bring a good concept to life. A concept that embraced my thoughts and would make a difference. A vision that would attract other like-minded individuals who would understand it, trust it and get on board. Individuals that pull together to make positive change through a small action.
My thoughts were that this was obviously a community idea and that social media was the platform to host it. This community would be filled with like-minded people. In my opinion, social media has many negative outcomes for people. But what if some part of it could be more positive and ‘do good’? If a self-obsessed, greedy influencer can make money, then why can’t the less fortunate or more ethical companies trying to implement positive change? So what better way to ‘do good’ than to re-direct some of that wealth ‘for good’?
What if the time you spent on social media went towards ‘good’ and directly benefited worthy causes? What if only ethical products and services contributed to this idea? Wow! That really is good, right? This can happen!
What would I need to make this happen?
I would need followers, lots of followers! This would give the ‘right’ advertisers the confidence in the account to be able to reach ‘its’ audience. Money from advertising would be collected and distributed to worthy causes/charities/projects.
What do these followers need from me?
They will need the concept explained simply so that they trust the idea, see its benefits and hopefully spread the word to others. To know that their time on social media could be ‘for good’ and make a real difference.
What do the advertisers need?
They want a group of ethically minded people to show their socially aligned service/product to. People who care about others and the world we live in. The right audience. To know that their advertising money is also going to other great projects/causes/needs.
This is my aim. How can you help? It’s so simple. You just follow ‘we kind’ on Instagram — together we might just do some good.
